As we grow, our mission of taking care of Ascend’s PEOPLE continues to drive us and to ensure that we are supporting our staff in every way possible. With this intention, Ascend has introduced its first Resilience Fund this year, the goal of which is to help our staff through any hardship whether financial, personal or medical.
This new fund was launched through the Ascend Giving Foundation which is a non-profit that was established with the purpose of supporting and serving Ascend staff, the children and families we serve, and our community. The Resilience Fund allows Ascend to distribute funds to its current staff who need extra financial support to see them through tough times.
The Ascend Giving Foundation Board reviewed all the applications, and was deeply moved by the overwhelming response with almost 50 applications submitted for the inaugural Resilience Fund. They worked diligently to support as many employees as possible, stretching the allocated budget from Ascend’s non-profit to the maximum. All applicant names were kept confidential and checks were mailed to all employees who received support through the Fund in April. The extra support hopefully helps alleviate some of the burdens being faced by the staff and provides much needed relief.
Ascend hopes to offer the Resilience Fund every year and Ascend. It also offers its staff annual Employee Scholarships for their professional development and growth.
