Home-Based Early Intervention

About Early-Intervention

Our goal, at Ascend – an early intervention center, is to enrich the lives of the children we serve, and with our Home-Based Early Intervention Services, we can start the enrichment at a very young age. For Early Intervention, Ascend serves children from ages 0 – 3 years old, who are referred by the Regional Center of the East Bay. We partner with them to provide a variety of therapist based on the IFSP ( Individualized Family Service Plan) e.g. Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy and Specialized Instructions to over 500 children in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Joaquin Counties. We have experienced, passionate, and talented IDS’ (Infant Development Specialists), Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists who see children throughout California.

Early Childhood Intervention Services – The Sessions

In a session, an Occupational Therapist (OT) can be working on fine motor and self- help facilitation while a Speech Therapist (SLP) can be working on communication and cognitive developments and an Infant Development Specialist (IDS) can be working on social emotional development, motor skills, parent training and behavioral modifications. All practices work on the child’s development and the collaborative nature ensures generalization across all areas of development.

What We Offer

We provide early childhood intervention services in the child’s natural environment using play-based interventions along with facilitating global developmental milestones. At our earl intervention center, we provide parent training nights 2x/a month each year to empower families with knowledge, new ideas, peer interactions, and parent support to build a more collaborative and supportive community. This aligns with our mission of impacting the community and changing the lives of the children we serve, one child at a time and one family at a time.

How To Get Early Intervention Services

At Ascend, all the children who receive Early Childhood Intervention services are referred through the Regional Center, and in order to receive services one would have to go through them first. Currently, we do not offer Private Pay services.
