On October 5 and 6th, we are hosting a 2-day “Size Matters Handwriting Program” workshop which will be presented by Dr. Beverly H. Moskowitz, a renown pediatric Occupational Therapist who’s accrued 38+ years of experience and has serviced many school districts. She’s an advocate for functional teaching, participation, and inclusion for all students and through various teaching methods and treatment interventions, she’s helped a plethora of students in a variety of settings.

Day 1: Timesaving and Practical Strategies to Integrate Your OT Interventions into Classrooms and Accelerate the Success of your School-based OT Practice
The schedule includes two 15-minute breaks and a 1.25-hour lunch
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the differences and benefits of Caseload and Workloads
- Identify and list authentic opportunities to integrate OT interventions into classrooms across the curriculum and work collaboratively with teachers
- Critique and use rubrics or goal-attainment scaling for measurable data collection
- Reiterate and select goals, accommodations and Specially designed Instruction that support function and participation
- Reference the WATI-Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative to identify and select affordable low and high-tech options for ensuring students’ success
Day 2: Size Matters Handwriting Program: Proven. Practical. Measurable. Embeddable.
Participants receive a Handbook, lab materials & CEU certificates.
This course serves as a prerequisite for SMHP Therapist/Teacher Certification. This is an introductory level course. The schedule includes two 15-minute breaks and a 1.25-hour lunch.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Cite handwriting research and SMHP evidence
- Identify & explain Key Concepts
- Describe strategies to implement SMHP in various settings
- Recall and select Accommodations for students with special needs
- Identify and list supportive SMHP therapy materials
- Discuss data collection, including Screening, Assessment, goal writing, and Progress Monitoring Forms A & B
